I am NOT slamming them.
I simply got to a point where the traditional, twisting, snapping, poking simply no Dr Lisa is the best. Typically we do not know for sure if a patient is eligible for Spinal Decompression therapy without examining them.
After the examination and viewing either x-rays or MRI's, Dr. Beach will then determine if the patient is a good candidate for spinal decompression therapy. The most common types of conditions that are successfully treated with spinal decompression therapy are but not limited to : Disc bulges herniations, slipped, or bulging , sciatica leg pain , disc disease, stenosis, arm pain, neck and back pain. For cervical procedures, the cervical unit is first electronically tilted to the angle required to target specific segments of the cervical spine through flexion.
The patient is then placed on the table with their head positioned in the cervical cradle unit. For lumbar procedures, the upper torso is captured through the lower margin of the ribcage by a comfortable securing system incorporated into the fixed section of the table. The Pelvic Tilt section will be electronically tilted to rotate the pelvis, so that specific spinal segments can be targeted. With precise computer controlled tension, the specific disc segment is gently distracted.
How long is each treatment visit and how long is the treatment plan? Spinal Decompression protocol consists of sessions that are minutes each in duration. The procedure is performed with the patient fully clothed and has been described as safe and pain-free. In fact, it is not uncommon for patients to fall asleep during the procedure. How long will it take before I get out of pain? Every patient's condition is different and no two spinal conditions are the same.

With that, patients respond differently to therapy being administered to their body. Is there a guarantee and will my pain come back? Unfortunately in life there is never a guarantee. That being said, when it comes to our individual spine we need an alternative that does not consist of drugs, needles or unnecessary aggressive spinal surgery.
Some individuals whose lifestyle or work environment exposes them to higher risk factors have found that a maintenance program consisting of monthly or bi-monthly sessions may benefit them long term. Beach will determine if this is suitable, and the schedule of these sessions will be decided upon at that time. Generally these sessions are performed at monthly or quarterly intervals.
The purpose of the maintenance sessions is to serve as a measure of protection against disabling exacerbation of low back pain syndrome. This non-surgical procedure can provide lower back and neck pain relief as well as relief for; sciatica pain, bulging discs, herniated discs, and degenerative discs.
The gentle distraction forces of Spinal Decompression create a decompression of the spine with unloading due to distraction and proper positioning.

This can help to improve blood flow and nutrient exchange to the injured area. Therapy sessions typically last less than 20 minutes, 3 times a week for 1 month. Most patients feel pain relief with as few as treatments, and are released from treatment after 8 weeks. A complete program targeting the function of the stabilization ligaments, tendons and muscles is a vital part of Spinal Decompression.
Exercise and adjunctive therapies such as heat, muscle stimulation, ultrasound, and cold therapy can assist in rehabilitation of these structures. Our goal is to not only help heal the disc, but to also enhance muscular control and support of the back and neck. Regular home exercise and periodic visits to our office will help in maintaining your spinal health, and reduce the probability of re-occurrence.
